The Phoenix Project… where to start? Okay let’s start with the image above From left to right — Bejay Melunga, Renee Kapuku, and myself (Que The Wolf)
So Bejay Melunga is a social entrepreneur, a wizkid -a 24-Year-Old Entrepreneur Helping Fortune 500 Companies Engage With Gen Z. With his latest venture, Supa Network, he has provided services to some of the world’s most influential brands, including Apple and Facebook. He works with such companies to offer key advice on how they can best connect, recruit and understand the next generation of young people.
Next up is Renee Kapuku . Renee Kapuku is a prolific writer, entrepreneur, educator, public speaker, and consultant. Driven by a passion to maximise global productivity and personal growth. Renee has influenced thousands across the globe in her mission to maximise potential across education, business, and technology. Renee was the first student from her state secondary school to attend Oxford University, becoming a Titular Scholar after graduating with first-class honours. She then pursued her post-graduate degree in International Education Policy from Harvard University after being awarded the prestigious Kennedy Memorial Trust scholarship.
The Phoenix Project is impressive and needed on so many levels, and I dont just say this because of my involvement. The Programme allows 30 (16–25-year-old) budding writers to attend a 2 month intensive virtual Bootcamp to hone their writing skills and abilities. Helping equipped them with the tools to tell theirs and others stories. . “I believe strongly in the power of stories and helping young people learn to tell theirs articulately, is like helping create legacies”
It’s needless to say the publishing industry is still a little behind when it comes to diversity in its offices and authors, there is growth, but still, more work is needed. This programme will help propel diverse creative writers into the publishing world, and with a partnership with Harper Collins and Apple Books, there will be a platform to showcase the work this cohort produces.
The programme has been pieced together, looking at all writing and publishing areas, with relevant mentors, speakers, and tutors to give insightful and necessary information. And really cool virtual mixers.
This is an AMAZING project and opportunity for any budding writers.
We are here to inspire, motivate and develop, we are here to add value, and I am extremely excited to be involved in this project with Dopereaders.
